The Canadian Superbike series has announced this year’s spec performance fuel.
Racers in the national Professional and Amateur Superbike and Sport Bike classes will have the choice of using either locally available unleaded pump gas, or Sunoco 260 GT fuel, available through Brooklin Cycle Racing.
Brooklin Cycle Racing will have a set price for the spec fuel all season; they’ll handle transportation and fuel distribution at all national CSBK events. CSBK national champions will receive a free drum of fuel as part of their prize package.
The move towards an unleaded spec fuel has been in the works for years, CSBK boss Kevin Graham says.
“This plan has been a long time coming as we have discussed the move to non-leaded fuel since the late 1990’s.” he says. “While we are happy to simplify things for our racers and level the playing field, the big issue is one of health, safety and the impact on our environment.”
Racers wishing to purchase fuel for pre-season testing should contact Rob Egan at rob.bcracing@gmail.com or call (905) 831–7223. The CSBK season starts with a test day on June 7 at Shannonville; the first race is also at Shannonville, June 22-24.
