MV Agusta is taking their F3 675 and Brutale 675 and throwing in electronically assisted shifting (EAS).
EAS won’t be standard on the middleweight motorcycles. Instead, there will be two versions of the bikes, one with EAS, and one without. Now, riders will be able to quick-shift the bikes without closing the gas or using the clutch.
The EAS package will also be available as an optional accessory from MV Agusta.
Throw EAS into the mix with a counter-rotating crankshaft, traction control, ride-by-wire throttle and Agusta’s MVICS electronics package, and these bikes will be pretty high-tech machines. They’re certainly part of a growing trend towards onboard technology that lets computers help control the motorcycle, letting the rider push the machine even further.
Over in Europe, the EAS system will add about 1000 euros to the bikes’ purchase price; we haven’t heard yet if the upgraded machines will come to Canada.
