Toronto Harley-Davidson closing

It looks as if the good people of Toronto will have to leave town to buy a Harley-Davidson now.

You’d think a Harley-Davidson dealership in Canada’s largest city would be too big to fail, but that’s not the case.

According to pretty much everyone on the interwebs, the Lawrence Avenue Harley-Davidson dealership won’t be selling hogs anymore after April 9. The word on the street is that they’ve already cleared out almost all of their merchandise – including new motorcycles – by selling it off at half price.

It’s unclear what will happen with the dealership’s Ducati line-up, but there’s certainly some speculation on GTAMotorcycle.com. Some reports have the dealership staying open and selling only Ducatis after April 9.

This closure particularly affects the city’s HOG chapter. We’ve heard the Harley-Davidson owner’s group needs a sponsoring dealership to conduct business, and if there’s none available in the city, that could make life difficult for the club. But according to their Facebook page, they’re working on solving the problem.

Update: Here’s the official line from Deeley Harley-Davidson: “Surrounding GTA authorised Harley-Davidson Retailers will be assisting HD Toronto customers and Deeley Harley-Davidson Canada has an appointed Consumer Care Specialist that can be reached on 905-660-3500 to assist customers.”
