Bowmanville’s Mosport International Raceway has a new name, courtesy of Canadian Tire.
Last week, Canadian Tire announced they were upping their support for Canadian motorsports. As part of this plan, they’re partnering with the Bowmanville track. In the words of senior VP Allan McDonald, this will allow them “to improve this racing landmark in Canada and create an enhanced experience for both drivers and fans.”
As part of the sponsorship program, the track will be renamed Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, although we’re betting it will take some time for longtime Canadian racers to start using the new name.
Money talks. No matter how embarrassing it sounds. Whats next ? Daytona changed to Pep Boys Racing Facility ?
Gotta thank the new mgmt and sponsors for the upgrades though.
All racers will now be required to use MotoMaster “NuGold” oil!
Another New Beginning. Thank you for the Monies CTC
Does the “enhanced experience” include being able to use Canadian Tire money to pay for tickets?
Unlikely, but hopefully it’ll provide some funding that could go towards repaving, at least the corners with the concrete patches running through them.
By mid-season they would be putting the concrete patches back in anyway, due to the large number of car related events.
