When CMG’s Costa Mouzouris reviewed BMW’s K1600 GT last spring he liked it – a lot. And, the rest of the world agrees.

Yesterday, BMW announced that a jury of 25 motorcycle magazines from all over the world voted their BMW K1600 GT as International Bike of the Year. The publications gave mad props to BMW for their blend of comfort, technology, and performance in the K1600 GT – all things that riders are looking for in a modern sport tourer.

The competition’s results show the moto-press sure loves BMW’s current offerings; the K1600 GT came in first place by a healthy margin over its second-place competition, the Ducati Diavel, which only scored 32 points to the Beemer’s 41. Aprilia’s Tuono V4 APRC was the third-place finisher, with 22 points, but BMW’s K1600 GTL took fourth place with 18 points, and their S1000 RR was tied for fifth place with Kawasaki’s ZX10R with 16 points. Not bad!
