For years, Canadian riders have been complaining about paying more for motorcycles than our American counterparts, even with the exchange rate factored in.

It seems Yamaha’s taken note, dropping the price of many bikes in their 2012 lineup.

Some of the price slashing is pretty impressive – the Raider sees a $3,600 price decrease, from $19,599 to $15,999, and the Royal Star Venture S drops a whopping $3,900, from $23,899 to $$19,999. Other machines see less drastic savings; an FZ-6R will cost you  $900 less, down from $8,899 to $7,999, and a WR250R is $1,000 cheaper, from $7,999 to $6,999.

  1. So they cut the price on the models that aren’t selling because they were over priced to begin with.

Hopefully the other manufactures are forced to follow.
