Toronto Motorcycle Show announces details

Honda's new NC700s will be there too!

December is coming, and that means the Toronto Motorcycle Show is fast approaching.

If you can make it downtown to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre sometime on December 9-11, then why not check the show out?

There will be more than 140 exhibitors this year, with one major exception (read on for more details below). Big names such as Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, Deeley Harley-Davidson, BMW, Victory, KTM, Ducati, Indian, Triumph, MV Agusta and Norton are going to be showing off their new machines there, along with lesser-known outfits, such as Cleveland CycleWerks.

The show’s doors are open 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $16 for adults, $10 for juniors, ages 6-15. Kids under age 6 get in free, as long as they’re accompanied by an adult, and seniors over 65 get in for $10. A $35 family pass gets two related adults and two related juniors in.

Kawasaki not coming to the party

Do you remember all the hoo-har a few years back when the MMIC decided to break away from Bar Hodgson’s International Motorcycle Super Show up by the airport in Toronto and do their own show downtown in early December?

Well cracks are starting to appear as Kawasaki Canada has dropped the December Toronto show from its show circuit this year (though it will be at all the other MMIC shows) and has heavily hinted that it will instead be at International Super Show (official announcement still to come).

So far all the other major OEMs are listed on the MMIC Toronto show’s website, though Triumph Canada will only be there at a dealer level as they have not officially done any major Canadian show for a few years now.

  1. I like the Dec show, I find it more professional and open to viewing bikes without the sales pitch. I find the January TO show to be a bit of a mess.
Too bad for Kawasaki not showing up, they will be missed.

  2. I’m assuming that Ducati NA won’t have the 1199 Panigale?  Seems like the December show doesn’t get the “new” bikes, which kind of kills it for me….
