Honda says they are going to bring their Crosstourer adventure bike to market.
The Crosstourer first came on the scene as a concept, a VFR 1200 engine wrapped up in adventure-style bodywork, along with a beefy suspension.
Unlike many concept bikes, though, this machine is going to actually make it to showroom floors. It’s not much of a surprise – big-bore adventure bikes seem to be gaining more and more popularity.
The production version will be slightly different from the concept, with less bodywork. It will also feature Honda’s new dual-clutch transmission technology. And, like every other cool bike coming down the pike, it will be shown off at the EICMA show in Milan.
[…] press release also indicates the VFR1200X Crosstourer is going to receive a few tweaks (adjustable windshield, revised DCT options), and will be imported […]
The twin clutch format is reported to be available as an option, so a conventional transmission will be standard and the most current development mule “spy photos”, shows the bike fitted with usd forks. Â
Looks to be a serious “adv roadie”, which is where most of them spend their time anyways, so those crying over serious offroad abilities, can just source the discontinued HP2E and 950SE models, or pony up for a GS or Tenere 1200.
Check out ADVrider.com in the Beasts section, for up to date postings on this bike.

The Tenere 1200 has serious offroad ability? Seriously??
Obviously not for single track or motocross, but seems to be capable of getting off asphalt for some fun.

A VFR engine and dual clutch? Is this meant to go off road or pose beside it?
How about bringing the 700cc Transalp over instead with a reworked tail for luggage racks? 🙂
