Kawasaki drops out of Canadian Superbike

Where will Jordan Szoke race, now that Kawasaki's Canadian Superbike factory team is shutting down?

It’s been a bummer summer for Jordan Szoke.

After handily outracing everyone else but still losing the 2011 Canadian Superbike championship to Brett McCormick, the seven-time former champ is now without a team, as Canadian Kawasaki Motors announced yesterday they’re dropping their series factory presence.

Unsurprisingly, this move is all about the Benjamins (or Bordens, in this case); a news release blamed faltering markets for the decision. Kawasaki’s assistant manager of marketing, Jeff Comello, said their factory team’s success speaks for itself, but “there comes a time when even our strong desire to win is not enough.”

Of course, this is bad news for  Canadian Superbike as well. Now, BMW is the only official factory team left in the race series.
