Ducati’s new superbike has a name, and some impressive stats.

Ducati announced yesterday that their 1199 superbike will be named the Panigale after the region in Italy where it was developed. The bike will be officially unveiled at Milan, Italy’s EICMA International Motorcycle Show, November 10-13.

The name isn’t as interesting, though, as the numbers that Hell For Leather is reporting. They claim a dealer source tells them the bike has 195 bhp, and weighs only 395 lbs, wet. That sounds very light, and very fast.

The bike won’t run in World Superbike competition next year, though; reports say the machine will first race in the 2012 FIM Superstock Championship, then World Superbike in 2013.
