Yamaha factory racing has confirmed that it’s going to run a full team at the Motegi round of the MotoGP series.

Yamaha Factory Racing issued a press release this week stating Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies will both be at Motegi, sporting red-and-white livery to honour the company’s 50th anniversary in MotoGP racing.

The Japanese race has been dogged by controversy for weeks, with many racers unhappy about the facility’s proximity to the country’s crippled nuclear reactors. Some have gone so far as to say they won’t attend the race, but team owners seem to applying pressure to ensure their top riders show up on October 2, whether they like it or not.
