Want to see some first-rate dirt racing action this Saturday? If so, you can head to the Gopher Dunes Raceway and take in Round One of the Wiesner Insurance Ontario Cross Country Championships Fall Series.
The race is billed as a shootout between riders in the Ontario offroad and the local pro motocross series, to see who’s truly the fastest. The course is a mash-up of the full 1.7 kilometre motocross course mixed with over ten kilometres of fast woods trails, along with manufactured obstacles. It should be interesting to see who comes out on top!
The course has been laid out to allow for plenty of speed and passing, and it’s also been designed so motocross riders don’t have to worry about bolting beefy handguards or skidplates on to their machines – they can run what they’d bring to any motocross course.
If you want, you can camp at the course for $20 on Friday night, and parking will cost $5 on Saturday. There are full amenities on site, including food and a pro shop.

Fresh off the heels of last weekend’s MotoMoncton comes the Shediac Motorcycle Rally, running from Friday until Sunday.
Events include a poker run Friday morning, a street party that night, music from Angry Candy, a Lion’s Club Breakfast on Saturday, a coastal bike run later that morning, a stunt show, and a lobster and steak supper that evening. You can also kick up your heels at a dance with The Mustangs.
Sunday starts with a Knights of Columbus Breakfast, a ladies’ motorcycle run, a motorcycle parade, and a day of family events, including slow races, vendors, face painting, an inflatable playground, and another motorcycle stunt show.
