Want to own a KTM Duke or SuperDuke? If you were planning on buying a new one, you’d better head down to the dealer soon.

It appears that KTM is dropping both the 690cc Duke and 990cc SuperDuke from their North American lineup. Neither model is listed on their website (check out their Canadian site here). Hell For Leather contacted the company, and they were told that neither bike fits in with the company’s plans in North America.

Of course, KTM is working away on a 1290cc SuperDuke, which should be here in 2013. Still, that means you’re going to have to wait a while if your local dealer sells out of their current stock, so keep that in mind. Also, remember that the photos leaked from a recent KTM dealers meeting didn’t say anything about an updated 690cc Duke returning to North America in the future, so this could be your last chance to buy one.

It’s not all bad news, though; while many aren’t going to get too excited over a smaller bike, KTM is still allegedly bringing a 350cc Duke to North America in 2013 as well – it was also listed in that spy shot. The 350cc-400cc engine category has been ignored for years, but with this year’s new 400cc Ninja from Kawasaki and now the possibility of the 350cc Duke replacing the 690cc version, that could change. It would certainly be nice to see a broader range of motorcycles available, instead of a spectrum that mainly consisted of 250cc and 650cc dual sports, 250cc,  600cc and 1000cc sport bikes, and cruisers 1000cc and up.
