BMW Motorrad’s sales continue to climb, with more good news for the company in July.
BMW’s bike sales slipped here in Canada last month – supposedly they saw a 20 per cent drop from the year before, which keeps their sales down about 18 per cent so far this year. But globally, the brand is doing very well, with last month’s worldwide bike sales up 10.3 per cent from July, 2010.
That number comes from the sale of 11,054 bikes, up from 10,022 sold in July the year before. Those rising sales numbers have been pretty consistent all year; so far this year, BMW’s sold 71,634 bikes globally, up 6.9 per cent from the year before.
The numbers aren’t so rosy for subsidiary Husqvarna, though; their numbers slipped 7.2 per cent in July, 2011, from the previous year, and over the first seven months of 2011 their sales are down 21.4 per cent.
