Ducati 1199 spy shots

This bike, supposedly the SP version, features upgraded shocks and wheels.
Supposedly this taped-up version of the cycle will be the standard model - minus the tape, of course.

The spy shot crowd is keeping busy these days – now we’ve got some new pictures of Ducati’s 1199 project.

Visordown’s pictures of the Italian superbike slated for 2012 production aren’t exactly high-rez snaps, but they give a look at some of the differences between the standard and SP versions of the bike, as well as providing a first glimpse of the right-hand side of the bike, including a good look at the exhaust routing.

Of course, the final version of this machine may still see changes – the aluminum gas tank will almost certainly be changed out for something else – but now we’ve got a better idea of what the future holds. Ducati’s been on a roll lately, with the highly successful Multistrada and Diavel. It will be interesting to see if they can see the same sort of sales success with the new 1199.
