Canada’s longest-running motorcycle charity rides again this summer, as Ride for Sight has events running across the country.
The motorcycle-themed fundraiser for the Foundation Fighting Blindness has been running since 1979. Participants gather donations from friends, colleagues, and family, and those gathering a minimum amount (around $50 or $75, depending on region) are eligible to participate at a Ride for Sight Celebration event, where they can take in a verity of events, including Show ‘N Shines, bike games, and live entertainment.
This year, two events kick off the second weekend of June, with an event in Steeltown Park, Trenton, Nova Scotia on June 11, and another event running at Alberta’s Stoney Nakoda Resort and Casino on June 10-12. Orillia, Ontario has a Ride for Sight event at Tudhope Park on June 17-19, and Newfoundland has an event June 24-26 at the Gander Community Centre.
