A few weeks ago, we speculated that BMW subsidiary Husqvarna would be bringing a new street motorcycle to market soon. Now, a story on MotorcycleNews.com seems to indicate the rumours were true.
This week, MCN featured photos of a new Husqvarna engine, supposedly based on BMW’s F800 power plant. Capacity is estimated around 900cc, but nobody’s released any solid numbers on horsepower rating – although they’re claiming increased power and torque.
Along with the photos came a statement from Husqvarna that the manufacturer was working with parent company BMW to produce a new road bike. It’d be quite a move forward, as Husky’s best known for their high-performance dirt machines; but, if the new bike ever does make it to the street, we’re betting it will provide some stiff competition for the other manufacturers.
Looks like the BMW guy caught them red handed using their engine, lol.
