Burlington Ontario’s Emerson Connor has secured a ride in the AMA Pro Daytona Sportbike class aboard a Ducshop-prepared 2011 Ducati EVO 848.
Sixteen-year-old Connor has been racing since he was seven. He’s had great success in Supermoto with several championships under his belt, and in 2008 was the only Canadian entered in the Red Bull AMA US Rookies Cup, which saw young riders from several countries compete against each other on identically prepared KTM 125s.
Connor already has extensive experience riding in the U.S., having competed in Supermoto and more recently in WERA events, also on a Ducshop Ducati 848, where he has finished on the podium more often than not.
Connor has already shown he’s capable of running a fast pace by posting the second-fastest time in the Supersport class during the Dunlop tire test held at Daytona International Speedway in January, aboard his 2010 WERA machine, in his first appearance at the track.
