Veteran plates for Ont. bikes

It was a spot of good news at the front, Veterans who ride can now get their own plate in Ontario.

Ontario motorcyclists will be eligible for veterans licence
plates for their bikes in the spring.

Veterans plates are for those who are veterans of WWII or
Korea, or who served on peacekeeping missions, or those who have served three
years with the Canadian regular forces.

The plates are free, but the Royal Canadian Legion charges a
small fee for verifying eligibility.

The original veterans plate had a red poppy with the word "veteran" on it. There
are more than 60 plates in Ontario’s graphic licence plate program.

Today is Remembrance Day.
