Moto Guzzi Stelvio

The standard Stelvio gets some tweak, a larger tank and cast wheels.

Sadly we haven’t been getting Guzzi’s answer to the large capacity adventure tourer over here in the Great White North, but that is all about to change!

Thankfully it’s still available in the more adventurous format.

For 2011 updates include a much needed larger 32 litre tank that should double the bike’s range as well as two sub models: the Stelvio standard (that comes with cast wheels) and the Stelvio NTV (that gets the adventure treatment with spoke wheels and various armoured parts).

Other updates include a new upper fairing and windshield and updated engine mapping that gives 102 hp at 7,000 rpm with max torque of 72 ft-lbs at 5,500 rpm from its 1151 cc v-twin motor..

Both bikes come with 50 mm USD forks, Brembo brakes and 19 inch front/17 inch rear wheels. The NVT claims a dry weight of 251 Kg, though we don’t have a figure for the standard. No word on pricing but they should hit Canadian shores by the end of 2011.
