Aprilia RS4 125 – 4 Canada!

The CBR125R just got some serious competition!

Essentially a restyled Derbi GPR125 to look more like Aprilia’s RSV4, the new RS4 125 is a four stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC, single cylindered which puts out about 15 hp and weighs in at 124 kg (undercutting the new CBR 125 by 13 kg).

I wonder if they’ll make a 250 version of this as well …

The motor is fuel injected and boasts a 4 valve head. The frame is aluminium with 41 mm USD forks and an asymmetric swingarm. Seat height is 820 mm and the wheelbase is 1,350 mm. Fuel tank holds 14.5 litres of gas.

There’s a single 4 piston radial caliper up front that bites onto a 300 mm disc, mounted on a 17” front rim (with a,17” rear too) which allows for 110/80-17 and 130/70-17 tires. That’s the same rear but a slightly wider front than the new CBR125.

No other details yet, but we have been told that it will be coming to Canada at the end of 2011, which is quite the surprise and it should be a welcome addition to a growing stable of smaller capacity offerings!

  1. Too bad it’s not the 33hp 2-stroke version, but it’s still sweet to see this coming here. It’s a super nice looking 125cc. It’ll be interesting to hear the price.

  2. That is really a surprise if it indeed does come to Canada.

Whether with 125cc engine or something bigger than that, it would be by far the nicest small cc bike around.
