The $13,495 Monster 1100 Evo gets some Diavelish influence.

With all the hype around the new Ducati Diavel, it would be easy to overlook the firm’s other models, however, the Bolognese motorcycle maker has updated the Monster 1100 for 2011.

New features include an exhaust system that came from the Diavel drawing board, lighter wheels sourced from the Streetfighter, and the addition of traction control and ABS as standard. A Marzocchi fork replaces the Showa unit of the previous model.

Its 1,078 cc air-cooled V-twin gains five hp, now rated at 100 hp, while torque peak remains at 76 lb-ft. The engine drives a six-speed gearbox through a reduced-effort APTC wet slipper clutch.
