Kansas City could be new home: H-D

Kansas City cheerleaders might soon have something to cheer about.

Harley-Davidson has admitted that Kansas City is among the potential locations for a plant relocation.

The 107-year-old American manufacturer has said that it could pack up and move out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, if union members don’t allow some cost-cutting measures. About 1,600 jobs could be lost in Milwaukee.

Bob Klein, a Harley-Davidson spokesman, said on Friday that several other cities are still being considered, though he would not mention specific places. He admitted that Kansas City, Kansas, was one of the potential locations after a union boss leaked it in a letter to members.

Harley has said it will make its decision on a move within about two weeks.
