Rene gets an award

Apparently the "IPPY" bronze medallion is a hit with the girls.

Round the world motorcyclist Rene Cormier has just received an"IPPY" award for his book The University
of Gravel Roads: Global Lessons from a Four-Year Motorcycle Adventure.

The book was awarded the bronze medal in the
category of Travel Essay by the Independent Publishers association at their recent Book Awards gala in New York city.

Rene flew down to receive the award and likely gave a tearful speech thanking the academy, god and CMG for picking up on his adventure and publishing his reports as he circumnavigated the globe on his BMW F650GS. Or not.

Congrats to Rene on a well deserved award.

BTW, if you want to go and see a slide show and talk by the man, he’s half way through a cross-Canada tour with stops at various BMW dealerships along the way.

Hanging off every word at Moncton’s Atlantic Motoplex.

I had the pleasure of attending Rene’s recent stopover at Moncton’s Atlantic Motoplex where he chatted about his adventures as well as answering questions about how much it costs, must-sees and other tidbits of global traveling information.
