sm_mods-rockers.jpg A festival celebrating both sides of
the socio-economic spectrum — the mods and the rockers, that is —
will be held once again at the Centre of the Universe this summer.

Toronto’s motorcycling and scootering
communities will come together in a celebration of "the legacy and
lifestyle" of the two Beatles-era groups, one known for overdressed
Labrettas and dapper clothing, the other for Triumph Bonnies and a
Fonzie look. And along with the celebrations will come vintage
motorcycles and scooters, rock-and-roll and Motown music, burlesque
performances, and good food.

Getchass down to the Black Dice (1574
Dundas West) on Friday, Aug. 20 at 9 for the Greasers Party, to
Rockabilly Rock (3 Oakwood) for the Crosstown Rumble and Ride on Aug.
21 at 2 p.m., and to the Dominion on Queen (500 Queen East) on Aug.
21 at 3 p.m. for The Main Event (the one with the burlesque).
