A $1.2 million grant will help the
California Highway Patrol combat motorcycle crashes over the next two
years.

The grant will allow the CHP to put on
extra patrols, produce public service ads, and conduct other
motorcycle safety operations in four south California counties that
are known for high numbers of motorcycle collisions.

The CHP intends to cut the number of
serious motorcycle crashes by five per cent.

The funds will be provided to the CHP by the National
Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

  1. Since I just experienced the canyon “roads” inland of LA, I can see the reasoning. We almost collected a bike on the grill of the car. He managed to stop about as far away as those bikes and the car are separated.
