Zero Motorcycles has received a $5.56 million shot in the arm through an investment by Invus, an investment firm that plows money from a group of European families into owner-manager style companies. Past investments have included Weight Watchers and Harry’s, a bakery company.
Invus also contributed about $5 million to Zero’s bank balance back in April 2008.
The money will be used to expand the business, but execs are keeping the details quiet — fitting, since the company’s products are virtually silent.
Zero makes high-performance electric motorcycles and intends to compete in the 2010 TTXGP, a road race series for "zero emissions" (we know, we know, but that’s what they call them) motorcycles.
