A gallery exhibit of 32 framed photographs of Englishman Charley Boorman and Scotsman Ewan McGregor on their Long Way Down motorcycle ride is being auctioned on eBay. Profits from the sale will go to UNICEF.
The motorcycle journey was a 15,000-mile ride from the northern tip of Scotland down to the southern tip of Africa.
The photographs for the exhibit were provided by the show’s producers and were curated by photographer Timothy White.
The photographic exhibit was shown at the Legend of the Motorcycle Concours d’Elegance near San Francisco in 2008, then was shown at the 2008 Laguna Seca Moto GP race.
The framed photos are 26 inches by 30 inches in size. Bidding had reached $500 by this morning, which is about fifteen bucks a picture. The frames alone have got to be worth a ten-spot, so it may still be worth tossing in a bid.
4 days left in the bidding … so if I buy just the right lottery ticket tomorrow, Ewan could be mine.
