Just as the FIM announces plans to run an electric-motorcycle road race series, the Zero Motorcycle company of California has pledged its electrons for the TTXGP, the competing and first electric motorcycle road race series.

And you are asked to tell them where a Canadian TTXGP should be held.

Choices include Montreal’s F1 or NASCAR car race, Calabogie Motorsports Park, Mirabil ICAR at Montreal, Mosport International Raceway, Atlantic Motorsport Park, Shannonville Motorsport Park, Circuit Mont-Tremblant, Race City Motorsport Park in Calgary, and anything else you can think of.

Zero says it is forming a street racing team and will field race bikes that use the same powertrain technology as found in its production motorcycles.

Zero recently whupped a whole passel of gas-powered 450 cc motocross bikes in a French race.

The first TTXGP race in the 2010 season will be at Infineon Raceway in California, May 14 – 16. Zero will announce some partnerships for this racing excursion shortly.

For the CMG story on the FIM electro-race announcement, see cmgonline.com.

And to tell Zero’s Stephen Bieda, Canadian sales and marketing boss, where to race, send email to stephen@zeromotorcycles.com .
