BMW Motorrad will bring the new F800R Sport Roadster to Canadian dealerships this fall with an MSRP of $9,990.
The Sport Roadster is the fourth model in the F800 line-up and emulates, according to BMW, the K1300R in design. It’s powered by the regular 798 cc parallel twin, but a new exhaust system gives it two more horsepower, with 87 hp at 8,000 rpm.
Other changes from the F800 model design include use of an O-ring chain instead of a belt, a slightly longer, and double-sided, swingarm, and shorter gearing in the higher ratios (4th – 6th).
With a tank of gas, the F800R weighs 204 kg.
It’ll be available in White Aluminum Metallic, Flame Orange, and Alpine White/Black Silk.
A special edition Chris Pfeiffer model will be available with an Akrapovic rear silencer, a red rear shock spring, a painted passenger seat cover, no cockpit fairing, and other cosmetic changes. Chris Pfeiffer is a stunt champion who uses the F800.
BMW has also discontinued the first F800 to arrive in Canada, the S model.
