Getting better Down Under

Time to fix the roads?

The minister of roads for the state of Victoria in Australia is talking about letting motorcycles share bus lanes Down Under.

Tim Pallas said on Tuesday that he sees "potential for a lot of unused road space to be effectively used" by motorcycles, according to theage.com.au, a news website.

The news story says the Victoria government will also look at making lane splitting legal.

Several million dollars will be spent fixing "black spots" in roads, which are areas of special danger for motorcycles.

It’s all part of a five-year government program to make motorcycling safer in Victoria.
