Zero Motorcycles has introduced a dual sport version of its electric motorcycle.
The new bike blends features from Zero’s street and off-road motorcycles.
An aluminum frame is mated to lightweight wheels fitted with dual sport tires. Light, inverted forks with 10 inches of travel are adjustable for rebound and compression damping, and a "double diamond" swingarm is controlled by an adjustable custom shock with nine inches of travel.
Zero motorcycles are powered by a lithium ion battery pack and spin the rear wheel by a clutchless single-speed transmission and chain final drive.
Top speed is 90 km/h, but Zero motorcycles are focussed on strong initial acceleration rather than high speed.
All up weight is 122.5 kg. Price is $12,485 Cdn and bikes should be in Canadian dealerships by late September.
