BMW’s new S1000RR supersports model will arrive in Canadian showrooms in early 2010 with a sticker price of $16,800.

The S1000RR is being campaigned in World Superbike by Ruben Xaus and Troy Corser. In street form, its 999 cc inline four pumps out 193 hp at 13,000 rpm and 82.5 lb-ft of torque at 9,750 rpm.

The bike weighs just over 200 kg ready-to-ride and comes with an engine management system for different riding conditions. Race ABS and Dynamic Traction Control are available as options.

Available colours will be Thunder Grey Metallic, Acid Green Metallic, Mineral Silver Metallic and the BMW Motorrad Motorsport color combination of Alpine White, Lupin Blue and Magma Red.

Race ABS will cost an extra $1,250, while Race ABS with Dynamic Traction Control will be $1,500, Electronic Shift Assistant is $350, and an anti-theft alarm is $250.

Consult CMG’s May 13 story on the S1000RR for more information.
