The third annual Atlanticade east-coast motorcycle rally opens today and up to 10,000 motorcyclists are expected at the Moncton site.

There’s still plenty of time to pack up your saddlebags and head out for the festivities, if you live anywhere east of Toronto, as the party lasts through to Sunday.

There are plenty of reasons to go, the least of which would be Heather Ireland and Biker TV, who return again to this hotbed of motorcycle entertainment.

The most of which, for some anyway, will be a musical performance on Magnetic Hill on Saturday. In a reversal of the tradition of putting the best act on second, Bon Jovi will follow headliners Bachman-Cummings at an open-air concert. See the Atlanticade site for ticket info.

Other features include a Hot Wings championship, a Vendor Village, three-hour tours with the Moncton Motorcycle Club, a Mystery Ride, a Custom Builders championship, and a Burn-Out competition. Ice Cream Socials and other family-friendly events help make this a motorcycle rally for everyone.

You’ll find Atlanticade HQ at Tim Hortons 4 Ice Centre in Moncton. There’s lots more to see — point your mouse to the rising sun and visit www.atlanticade.ca for details.
