It’s a case of the federal government taking the term "shovel-ready project" literally.

There’s $25-million in federal cash waiting for use on trail-building or trail-improving projects across Canada.

It’s just waiting for you to apply for it, and the Canadian Off-Highway Vehicle Distributors Council says application forms and guidelines for use of the money are posted on the National Trails Coalition website at www.ntc-canada.ca.

"New trail infrastructure provides a safe venue for a variety of trail users and creates local economic development opportunities, particularly in rural and northern Canada," says Bob Ramsay, president of the COHV. "The announced $25 million in federal funding will significantly increase the level of trail building in the coming year."
