A former Canadian motorcycle road racer who worked for Sport Rider magazine will benefit from a silent auction at the March 6 Daytona "Bike Nite in the Daylite" motorcycle show.

Andrew Trevitt, 45, was seriously hurt in a motorcycle-car collision in November and is now undergoing physical rehabilitation.

Trevitt was born in Ontario, is a former national Canadian 250 cc GP champion, and rode for the factory Suzuki team in the Canadian Superbike series years ago. He’s been with Sport Rider for 10 years, is a senior editor there, and is the author of the book Sportbike Suspension Tuning.

Auction items will include signed race memorabilia and other motorcycling items. Money raised will help him pay is medical and rehab expenses.

Other items will be auctioned on eBay from February 27 through March 8 to help Trevitt.

Trevitt has a recovery blog at getwelltrev.blogspot.com. For more information on the benefit auctions, see www.kawasaki.com.

The Daytona 200 motorcycle road race will be held under the lights on Friday, March 6.
