Winter rider Michael Cole: raising awareness of diabetes

A motorcyclist has just completed a dead-of-winter cross-Canada ride to raise awareness of diabetes.
Michael Cole, from Nestor Falls, Ont., set out from St. John’s, Nfld., on Jan. 1, aboard a 1995 Harley-Davidson Softail Custom. Cole has been a diabetic most of his life and says he wants to focus attention on the disease. “Far too many people are getting and dying from this disease,” he says. “To make people aware of the growing numbers, we need action now, as it’s already out of control.”
