Canadian Enduro competitors will have a truly national series for the first time in many years for the 2009 season, as World Enduro Canada (WEC) is sanctioning a cross-Canada challenge using the same format used in ISDE and world championship competition — basically separately-scored two-day events with electronic timing on special test sections.
In a remarkable show of co-operation, the Canadian industry is behind the new series, with Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, KTM, and BMW all getting on board, while MXP, Inside Motorcycles, and Cycle Canada are providing sponsorship, and Brian Kurtz Trucking and West Jet are providing exceptional travel deals.
In order to reduce travel time and expense, the east and west rounds will be run on back-to-back weekends. Dates planned are:
Pincher Creek, Alberta, July 4-5
Okanagan Valley, B.C., July 11-12
Labelle, Quebec, September 12-13
Parry Sound, Ontario, September 19-20
