French brake system manufacturer Beringer has come up with an inboard-hub brake for supermoto and chopper type bikes.
The company revealed its inboard braking system at the Milan motorcycle show. It’s a modification of a twin-engine aircraft brake system and offers less weight, less gyroscopic inertia, and more power than a single disc system, they say.

Beringer does say, however, that the inboard design protects against brake breakage, and whey they don’t necessarily look cool, they are cool due to directed airflow.
Yes the Beringer is more efficient than usual brakes. they compare to the Beringer 6 piston caliper with iron cast disc 310 mm or 320mm. It is very powerfull, and very used in supermoto, wich need very strong braking action. Difficult to do better for a light supermoto. It is for this reason that Beringer advice as this.
But the inboard brake give less gyroscopic effect. It is more protected, against mud and rocks. And the braking effect is more balanced, because there is one disc on each side.

I did read it, and if it doesn’t perform any better than a single disc or conventonial drum brake setup, the what’s the point ?
