Get intimate with Moto GP

That’s you, third from the left, $500 poorer …

You could get up close and personal with Moto GP racing at Laguna Seca this summer, if you’ve got a few bucks to spare.

Organizers of the July 20 Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix in California are selling tickets for $500 that will get the buyer a half-day guided ride down Hwy 1 into Big Sur and along the back roads of Monterey County.

But that’s not all, a catered lunch in the Turn 4 Paddock Suite, a tour of the Moto GP paddock and pit lane, three laps of the circuit on your bike, and a shake of the hands with Wayne Rainey, Randy Mamola, and other former and current Moto GP greats rounds off the day. It all happens on the Thursday preceding the race.

The money will go to Riders for Health, an organization that employs motorcycles in the provision of health services for remote parts of Africa.

Call the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca ticket office at 1-800-327-SECA if you’ve got $500 to spare. Be aware that this ticket will not actually get you into the Moto GP event, so have your friend set up the VCR to tape it!
