Ho, hum. Yoshimura Suzuki’s Ben Spies won twice at Miller (in what was in effect a support event

The unusual bit was that Mat Mladin wasn’t right there with him; the six-time champ crashed out of Sunday’s race and finished fourth on Sunday.

Sunday’s race showed the most variety up front of any AMA superbike race yet, with Jamie Hacking on his Kawasaki second and Neil Hodgson on a Honda in third.

Hodgson’s team-mate Miguel Duhamel was sixth, while Calgarian Chris Peris did an excellent job to card a 10th on his supersport-spec GSX-R1000.

The circuit reconvenes at Road America near Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, next weekend.
