MMIC pres Bob Ramsay signs deal with Chinese motorcycle association boss Bingnan Chen.

Motorcycles and ATVs made in China should be more uniformly in-line with Canadian standards, thanks to an agreement signed recently by Bob Ramsay, president of the Motorcycle & Moped Industry Council, and Bingnan Chen, secretary-general of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce for Motorcycles in Beijing.

The memorandum of understanding will see the two groups working together to make Chinese-made bikes and ATVs safer, greener, more energy efficient, and to ensure they agree with Canadian standards.

Chen said the Chinese organization will "inform all the Chinese export enterprises about Canada’s relevant laws and regulations as well as its standards and compliance requirements."
