Indian Motorcycles has released photographs of its 2009 Chief Standard. The bike is a prototype at the moment — but it looks like an Indian, with valanced fenders, studded leather seat, spoked, whitewall wheels, and the signature Chief head on the front fender.
The bike is built around a tubular steel frame with USD 41 mm forks and a single rear shock. A 16-inch wheel sports Brembo brakes.
The new motor is a 105 cubic inch V-twin with a 3.97 by 4.25 inch bore-stroke ratio and 9:1 compression. It’s fuel injected and should produce 100 lb-ft of torque through the six-speed transmission.
Base U.S. price is set at $30,999, but that can rise to $33,999 with a touring package. See more at indianmotorcycle.com. No telling when the bikes will be available to the public, or if they’ll come to Canada.

…of if this attempt will survive any longer than any of the others. :p
