A Bewdley day for CMG regulars

The crowd was a bit smaller than usual, but a number of the CMG Soapbox forum faithful showed up at Britt’s in Bewdley, Ont., for the annual spring kick-off of the official CMG riding season … Betty Boop, purlgurl, Shakin, Too-Tall, Catcher, bbb, larry, and one or two others whose handles I’m afraid I’m missing.

Carole, aka purlgurl, gets some kind of award for arranging a vacation in her first month in a new job to get east from Calgary to ride out to the lunch courtesy of Shakin’s FZ-1 and Two-Tall’s ‘Strom; apparently she got even more promiscuous on the way home and shared even more pillion seats. She’s still waiting for her new Hardly-Dardly to get off the PDI floor back in Calgary.

The date (Mother’s Day) and the slightly threatening weather (cool and cloudy, threatening rain) may have kept the attendance down, but the riding was excellent for the eastern (Napanee), moderately western (Toronto), and northern (Bracebridge) contingents, with the weather staying just threatening. The inestimable bbb led most of the group on a northward loop after lunch, while larry and Betty Boop headed east at moderate warp speed to get some work done on her race bike before a track day on Tuesday.

It was an excellent start to the CMG road riding season in Ontario.
