BMW's flagship superbike now has variable valve timing on its intake valves, as the Shiftcam engine design was also applied to the inline-four motor. There are a whole host of other upgrades for 2019, as the engine's internals have been lightened and the bike itself is down as much as 11 kg, and gains 11 hp. A quickshifter is also standard equipment now, and buyers can opt to add electronic suspension management to the fully-adjustable forks and shock. Overall, this litrebike is a serious weapon, and to reflect that, BMW has resumed its World Superbike racing program in earnest.
