Aprilia has ended the “will they or won’t they?” chatter, and confirmed it will show off the production version of the RS660 street bike at this year’s EICMA show.
The RS660 prototype grabbed lots of attention on last year’s show circuit when it promised such wild ideas as active aerodynamics, truly a mad idea for the middleweight supersport class. The engine is supposedly a vertical twin, basically an RSV4 engine cut in half.
The RS660 was so far-out that many wondered if it would ever reach production. Then, over the following months, information and gossip about the machine started to surface, including these renderings.
All very interesting indeed, and now Aprilia says it will show the machine at EICMA next week.
