Ducati Multistrada 1260 S GT: A Multi for the street

Let’s get this straight right off the top: The Ducati Multistrada 1260 S GT does not have radar-enabled cruise control, as rumours said it would.

What the new-for-2020 bike does have is a pretty decent touring package added to what’s basically the existing S model. Hard panniers come as standard equipment, along with tire pressure monitoring system, centrestand, accessory LED lights, comfortable touring seat and heated grips.

The engine is the same liquid-cooled 1260 L-twin as found in the 1260 S, making just under 160 hp. The GT gets the electronic safety systems you’d expect: cornering ABS, traction control, cornering lights, wheelie control, hill assist, and so on. The semi-active Ducati Skyhook suspension system is standard, as is an up/down quickshifter.

As this is the last year for the 1260 Multi, most likely, it’s possible we may see this particular machine hang around a while longer, just like the previous-generation Panigale did. Stay tuned!
