2020 Ducati Panigale V4 gets aero

The Ducati Panigale V4 and V4 S are getting aerodynamic winglets, just like the higher-spec’d R version.

The “base model” fairing is now much more similar to the R, with a set of “gills” added as well. Supposedly, this all adds up to a decent amount of downforce that will help you at speed. Obviously, that’s somewhat irrelevant if you’re going traffic light-to-traffic light in Hogtown, but if you do track days on your Panigale you may appreciate it.

Other tweaks were added to the bike as well—the front frame is stiffened “to give better front-end ‘feel’ at extreme lean angles.” The bikes got other smaller tweaks to the chassis, ride-by-wire system and safety electronics based on feedback from Ducati’s World Superbike and MotoGP race teams.

The S model also got an upgrade to its Ohlins electronic suspension, with the second-generation Ohlins Smart EC system that Ducati says “exploits the full potential of the IMU 6D.

Canadian availability and pricing for the upgraded bike has not been announced, but expect it for next season at a higher MSRP.
