Dumas grabs Chuckwalla wins

What’s Canadian roadracer Alex Dumas supposed to do with all his free time, now that he’s won the Twins title in MotoAmerica?

Race with the Chuckwalla Valley Motorcycle Association, that’s what. Dumas is best-known for his ride on a KTM RC390 last year in MotoAmerica, when he won the Junior Cup, and this year’s Suzuki SV650, when he won the Twins title, but last weekend at Chuckwalla (California), Dumas found himself a ride on a Suzuki GSX-R1000.

He entered several different races over the weekend, taking the win in Supersport Open and Formula Open, as well as a second in Formula Open. He also earned a fourth in the CVMA Shootout.

Whose bike was Dumas riding? From the photos, it appears to be Jake Lewis’s bike, that Team Hammer ran in MotoAmerica this summer. Does this mean Dumas is going to jump to racing literbikes in MotoAmerica next year? We doubt it, but he’s probably taking any chance he can to race that Gixxer Thou, just in case. It does sound like Dumas is planning to race the rest of the CVMA series this winter …
