Alberta’s Mike Scott has announced his retirement from the NHRA’s Top Fuel Harley class, effective immediately.
Along with his racing here in Canada (he was a CMDRA champ in 2008), Scott has been racing in the US for a while. He won the IHRA’s Nitro Harley title in 2014 before moving to the NHRA. This year, Scott was ranked seventh in the NHRA’s Top Fuel Harley class, which sees racers blasting down-track on custom-built, nitromethane-powered V-twins (more about the class here).
Scott had been riding with Jay Turner Racing, and the retirement announcement comes as Scott and the team have terminated their agreement. Scott says he’s not looking for a ride anywhere else this year, or going forward into next season.
